FAQ
Trippi Cue questions, answered
Including the ones with awkward answers: what it cannot do, when it stays silent, and who can see the window. Nothing here is softened for the sake of the page.
The basics
What is Trippi Cue?+
A Chrome extension that listens to the meeting in your browser tab, notices when a question or an instruction is aimed at you, and shows a short suggested answer while the call is still running.
How is it different from a note taker?+
A note taker is useful after the call: notes, a summary, a recap in your inbox. Cue is useless after the call and useful during it — it does not write anything down at all.
Is it the same as Trippi?+
No. Trippi puts translated live captions over a call so you can follow a language you do not speak. Cue answers the question that was asked of you. Separate extensions, separate plans.
Do I need to prepare anything before a call?+
No. There is no brief to write, no documents to upload and nothing to invite. You click the icon when the call starts.
Questions and answers
How does it know a question was aimed at me?+
A cheap local check drops the small talk, then a model looks at the recent lines, the participants and your name and decides whether the closing turn was addressed to you. If it was not, nothing appears.
Why does it sometimes stay silent?+
Three reasons: the model judged the question was not yours, its confidence was below the threshold, or the same question already had a card in the last minute. A silent window is usually the product working, not failing.
Can I ask something myself?+
Yes. There is a field at the bottom of the window: your question goes off with the meeting as context and skips every automatic filter.
Can the answer be wrong?+
Yes. It is written by a language model from the last lines of the call, and it knows nothing about your company beyond what was said out loud. Read it before you say it — it is a prompt for you, not a script.
What language are the answers in?+
The question stays in the language of the meeting; the answer is written in the language you pick in the window — 68 of them — or in your browser’s language by default.
How long does an answer take?+
A few seconds after the question is finished, which is the point: an answer that arrives after the topic has moved on is not an answer.
Platforms and devices
Which meetings does it work in?+
Google Meet, Microsoft Teams on the web and Zoom on the web, in Chrome and Chromium browsers on desktop.
Why not the Zoom or Teams desktop apps?+
A browser extension can only reach browser tabs. The desktop applications are separate programs — no extension can see inside them, ours included.
Is there a mobile version?+
No. Mobile browsers do not run this kind of extension.
Does it work behind a corporate Teams proxy?+
Yes, Cue recognises the Defender for Cloud Apps addresses. There it works on the click-only permission: start it by clicking the icon once the call is open.
Bots, participants and consent
Does a bot join my call?+
No. Nothing appears in the participant list, nothing announces itself, and the other side sees exactly what it would see without Cue.
Can other people tell I am using it?+
Not from the meeting itself. But the window lives in your browser page, so it is visible to everyone if you share that tab — we would rather say that plainly than have you discover it mid-demo.
Do I have to tell people it is running?+
Nothing is recorded and nothing leaves your call as a recording, so there is no recording notice to give. Whether to mention it is yours to judge, and local rules and company policy may have a view.
Is it allowed in interviews and exams?+
That is between you and whoever is running them. We do not hide the window, do not evade proctoring software and do not build anything to that end — if a rule says no external help, Cue is external help.
Audio, text and storage
What exactly does it listen to?+
The audio of the meeting tab, and only after your click. It never touches your microphone, your camera or any other tab.
Where does the audio go?+
Straight from your browser to our speech-to-text provider over an encrypted connection. It does not pass through our servers, and it is not recorded anywhere.
What is sent to your servers?+
A short rolling window of the last recognised lines, the speaker labels and your name — enough for the model to tell whose question it is. It becomes one prompt and is dropped with the answer.
Do you keep a transcript?+
No. No transcript, no summary, no recording, no meeting history. What we store is an install record, counters of minutes and answers, and your account if you make one.
Do you train models on my meetings?+
No.
What it does not do
Can it answer from my documents?+
Not today. There is nowhere to upload a document, and nothing would read it — answers come from what was said in the call.
Does it collect action items?+
It can mark a card as a task rather than a question, but there is no list of action items, no owner, no deadline and no export.
Does it send a summary afterwards?+
No. Nothing is produced after the call, because nothing is kept from it.
Does it record the meeting?+
No, and it cannot: the audio is never written to disk on your machine or ours.
Plans and limits
Is there a free plan?+
Yes: 30 minutes of live answers a month once you sign in, 10 minutes before that. No card, no expiry date.
What am I paying for?+
Hours of meeting that Cue listens to. Answers are not charged for — a call where it stays quiet costs the same as a busy one.
What happens when I run out?+
Cards stop and the window says so. The call is untouched. You can add hours mid-month or wait for the first of the month.
Can I cancel and get a refund?+
Cancel any time from your account page; refunds within 14 days of the payment, no argument required.
Support
Something is broken. What do you need from me?+
Which platform the call was on, what you expected, what happened, and whether the window opened at all. If you write from the extension, your version and platform arrive with the message.
How fast do you answer?+
Usually within one working day, and a person answers — there is no ticket queue to get lost in.
Can I ask for a platform you do not support?+
Please do. What people ask for is how the list gets longer.
Not here?
Write to [email protected] — a person answers, usually within a working day.
Answers in the call, not after it.
Trippi Cue is free in the Chrome Web Store. Ten minutes of live answers without an account.
